“Andrey Slepenev”, Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Union, spoke by phone with “Kazem Jalali”, our country’s ambassador to Russia.
According to ISNA, in this conversation, the parties emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union in the new conditions.
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia called the development of cooperation with regional institutions, including the Eurasian Economic Union, one of the government’s policies and the emphases of “Masoud Pezzekian”, and expressed hope that with the implementation of the free trade agreement in the near future, the volume of trade between Iran and the countries of the region will increase significantly.
“Andrey Slepenev” also called Pezzekian’s visit to Russia important and successful and said that all legal procedures for the implementation of the free trade agreement between Iran and the member states of the Eurasian Union have been completed in all member states of the union.
He expressed his readiness to participate in this exhibition, thanking our country for its initiative in holding a specialized trade exhibition with Eurasia in Tehran.
The free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union member states was signed last year, and this year our country succeeded in obtaining observer status in this union.
After the implementation of the free trade agreement, customs tariffs on over 9,000 items of goods traded between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union member states, including Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, will be zero.
